FREDERICKSBURG, Va. — Fredericksburg police are investigating a hit-and-run crash after a vehicle slammed into an air-conditioning unit along Caroline Street and the driver reportedly fled the scene.
The incident occurred in the 1700 block of Caroline Street. Surveillance video released by police shows the aftermath of the crash as authorities work to identify the person responsible.
According to local reporting, investigators have not publicly announced what caused the driver to lose control before striking the property.
The crash adds to ongoing concerns about traffic safety along Fredericksburg’s heavily traveled streets, where residential, commercial and pedestrian traffic frequently converge.
Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the incident or who has information that could help identify the vehicle or driver to contact authorities.
